U.S Custom and Border Protection Announced Expansion of Global Entry Program for Indian Citizens
U.S. Customs and Border Protection announce on July 3, 2017 expansion of Global Entry Program to Indian citizens,
Global Entry program is available to U.S Citizens, U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents and residents of certain countries which now includes India too. India would be the 11th country in the world to get included in the list. The complete list of countries can be viewed here.
Global Entry Program is a CBP Trusted Traveler Program that allows for expedited clearance of pre-approved, low-risk travellers. Indian citizens can begin applying for Global Entry through the Global Online Enrolment System (GOES) website
Acting Commissioner Kevin McAleenan stated “CBP is excited to offer our flagship Trusted Traveler Program to Indian citizens,By expanding Global Entry eligibility, CBP is transforming the international arrivals process, making it more secure, efficient and welcoming, for the millions of Indian citizens who visit the United States each year.”
Indian Ambassador to United States, Mr. Navtej Sarna became the first Indian Citizen to enrol for the Global Entry Program.
